European Motor Accident Report
The European Motor Accident Report is a special form, printed with the approval
of the European insurance and reinsurance federation (Comité Européen
des Assurances).
Insurance companies are obliged to issue the policyholder with a European Motor
Accident Report, along with the conditions of the agreed cover.
Under the Law on Compulsory Insurance in Traffic, the participants are obliged to
fill in this form unless the authorised police establishment has performed an inquest
into the accident.
The form is issued in two copies, whereby the original (for vehicle A) is completed
simultaneously with the copy (for vehicle B), without the possibility of amendments
after the two copies are separated.
The text of the form is identical in all languages, and you can easily understand
the contents if you compare the text on your form.
By completing and signing the form, the participants of an accident do not accept
the blame; they jointly explain the course of the accident in order to speed up
the compensation procedure.
